Project

This literary work is the result of an artistic investigation carried out in Tierra del Fuego, in the southernmost part of Chile. Through poetic prose, this work immerses us in the vast pampas, lenga forests, and desolate landscapes of this remote Patagonian region.

The reading transcends mere description and delves into a metaphorical and conceptual dimension, inviting the reader to embark on an inner journey that questions the relationship with nature, death, and oblivion. It confronts the fragility of animal life against the immensity of these Patagonian landscapes, where animal bones and traces of a fleeting existence are buried in the geography.

The work is a compendium of 21 documentary-style photographs displayed using various editorial resources to create tension throughout its journey, offering a graphical versatility for a reflective reading about the journey between life and death. This is achieved through shifts in framing, the use of color, calligraphic resources, and the composition of text across each spread of the book. These techniques aim to create an immersive and dynamic experience for the reader.

This editorial project is framed within a documentary audiovisual and photographic exhibition (both presented in 2017) that narrate a metaphorical journey through Tierra del Fuego (Chile), where the edge of the continent borders the southernmost known regions to visually reflect on life and death.
